The HiPath Wireless Controller is the platform that provides centralised intelligence for the HiPath Wireless enterprise wireless LAN (WLAN) solution. The Controller aggregates and coordinates all access points and manages clients so the wireless LAN appears as individual, centrally managed IP subnets. As a result, the need for on-site installation and maintenance of remote access points is greatly reduced, and network managers benefit from enhanced centralised control.
The HiPath Wireless Convergence Software resides on the Controller, and provides an intuitive web-based interface that makes it easy to manage the entire wireless network. Virtualised user segmentation allows unique quality of service, security, and application permissions to be centrally defined and pushed throughout the enterprise network.
