Driver Free Printing in version 6.0 leaves all previously available universal printer drivers in the dust. Already in version 5.5, the greater efficiency of the patented Driver Free Printing put this system way ahead of the pack of universal printer drivers. Instead of repeatedly converting formats like a universal printer driver, Driver Free Printing simply uses a standard Windows print process optimized for distributed systems. Because only half of the spooling and rendering processes are needed and format conversion is avoided completely, both client and server loads are reduced and optimal quality is attained.

The .print Engine 6.0 combines the efficiency of DRIVER FREE PRINTING with a completely new,
adaptive compression. The individual components of the print job are analyzed before compression and compressed with the best, most specific algorithm. The technologies behind this are so far ahead of today's standards that documents with JPG images appear in even better quality, despite compression. The remaining print data volume is usually nevertheless about 50% less than that of a comparable PDF file and is even significantly smaller than with .print Engine 5.5.
If the user does not require high quality printout, he can select between maximum compression or omission of images to drastically reduce the amount of data volume and printer toner he uses.

The print process is further expedited by optimizing PDF printing. These documents no longer need to be printed "as image", which again reduces the print data volume considerably.

.print Engine 6.0 also brings more Unix versions of the .print Engine. Under Unix, print jobs take on enormous proportions. With .print Engine, Postscript print jobs are usually compressed to 3-8% of their original size. The .print Engine is therefore the ideal complement to X applications and classic Unix host systems. The .print Engine Unix communicates with all available ThinPrint Clients.
