Virtual Channel Support for Dedicated Print Servers
- Printing over ICA and RDP, even from dedicated print servers
- Retention of all security measures
- Driver Free Printing with dedicated print servers
When printing from a dedicated print server, targeted printers normally can't be reached over TCP/IP if they are hiding behind a firewall or Net Address Translation (NAT). With ThinPrint .print Virtual Channel Gateway, print data can be embedded into the ICA or RDP virtual channel and be sent directly to the client - keeping security intact and increasing printer support.
Furthermore, the Virtual Channel Gateway is used as a component on the application servers to enable Driver Free Printing functionality from dedicated print servers.
Advantages of the Virtual Channel Gateway:
- Printer queues on dedicated print servers
- No loss of terminal server performance during rendering
- Use of auto-created printers possible (TPAutoConnect)
- Easy administration
- Available for every .print ICA and RDP Client
- Supplement to existing security concepts like firewalls and / or IP masking.
